Written by the band, made up of Harmony Cavelle (vocals), Harry Winks (guitar), Ollie Green (bass) and Cody Jones (drums), MOTH KIDS began to take shape during the early stages of the band, before being revisited and finalised recently. With their Y2K pop punk inspirations flowing throughout, the energetic track features their signature sound of combining modern production, catchy melodies and sing-along choruses.
Speaking of MOTH KIDS, the band said “MOTH KIDS is a track that came to life when we first started the band which we couldn’t get right at the time. The song was inspired after playing our first small tour for our fans and feeling a sense of community at the shows with everyone in the crowd. After our recent run of shows, we had this same feeling and wanted to capture it in this song. We’ve also secretly shared the song with our fans for a while and they have been asking for it to be released ever since. It’s more of an angsty, rebellious kind of track which we hope brings a sense of belonging like it did for us making it.” MOTH KIDS follows on from previous singles HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER, stone cold summer, Riptide and Nepo Baby.
Following an incredible summer of shows, where they headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, the band headed out on their sold-out I Was Here First tour last month. The tour saw them play some of their largest headline shows to date, including at The Dome in London. Next month they head back out on the road with NOAHFINNCE as support on his seven date UK tour. Kicking things off in Southampton on 5th November, they will then play Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds before wrapping things up at London’s Electric Ballroom on 13th November.
South Arcade have also been announced to be a part of Radio 1’s New Music Live in Halifax on 20th November, where they will perform a set at Square Chapel for a live broadcast on BBC Radio 1. The band have had huge support at Radio 1, and the huge event is a collaboration with Radio 1 shows Future Artists, Future Pop, New Music Show and BBC Introducing.
In just the last few months the band have exploded across social media with their huge online fan base continuing to grow. With now over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, South Arcade’s most recent releases have been some of their biggest tracks to date. Latest single, HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER has reached over 2 million streams on Spotify alone.
