The UK’s own Southern Rockers, Sons Of Liberty, are delighted to reveal that their third album ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ will be self-released Friday 23rd February 2024. On Thursday 2 November 2023, Sons Of Liberty will release ‘Turn This Tide’, the second single from the album. The band have made available a video for the song which was directed by Kris Barras, and shot at Rockaway Park, a creative alternative community in a disused quarry. The album has been produced / mixed by Josiah J Manning [Kris Barras Band], and recorded at Momentum Studios. The band will also play 10 live dates in March 2024; including one support slot for Reef, on ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ Album Launch Tour [all dates on image below]. Support on all headline dates will come from The Mike Ross Band. Tickets for the shows available here: www.sonsoflibertyband.com/shows Sons of Liberty said of ‘Turn This Tide’, “We rarely venture into this kind of territory with our music, but we were absolutely compelled to write this heartfelt song. The message is a simple and powerful one, there’s still time to change course, to make things right for the future, to leave a legacy worth leaving….let’s all make it happen, before it really is too late”. This phase of the band’s career is already paying dividends. The first single ‘Time To Fly’ was the #1 most played song in September on Hard Rock Hell Radio, and #2 in Classic Rock Magazine’s ‘Tracks of the Week’ public vote. Classic Rock hailed its, “…fuzzy mix of beefcake southern rock and biker swagger… the sound of five rock lifers… having the best time. Dead simple, dead effective.” The track has received airplay across 5 continents, and racked up thousands of plays on YouTube and Spotify. Sons of Liberty said, “Very proud as we are of ‘Aces & Eights’, we set out not to make this a Mk2 version. We wanted all the new songs to be ‘big’ songs…like it’s very much still us, but we’ve been seriously working out! We have such a strong creative team around us now too, and we brought all of this talent together to craft ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’. “We never really stop song writing and this album came through a big period of change for us, so it took a lot longer than we had planned to create… but everything happens for a reason, and hopefully the results speak for themselves. It’s about real life, people like you and me, and hopefully our songs will resonate.” This is the first album to feature Russ Grimmett fronting the band. He has been welcomed with open arms by fans on the live circuit – the band have a freshness and drive that will see them lifted to the next level. Sons of Liberty are Russ Grimmett, Fred Hale and Andy Muse (Guitars), Mark Thomas (Bass) and Steve Byrne (Drums). Their first album ‘Animism’ dropped in 2020, and the follow up ‘Aces & Eights’ landed the following year. The band have already performed with acts like Preacher Stone, FM, Grand Slam and Molly Hatchet, Sons Of Liberty can hold their own on any stage. Sons of Liberty describe ‘The Detail Is In The Devil’ as “forever music”, and it’s hard to disagree. |
