Sons of Alpha Centauri share title track from Pull

SONS OF ALPHA CENTAURI SHARE TITLE TRACK FROM UPCOMING ALBUM, PULL

TO BE RELEASED 28TH MARCH VIA EXILE ON MAINSTREAM

PRE-ORDERS AVAILABLE ONLINE NOW

Sons of Alpha Centauri share the title track from their upcoming fourth studio album Pull, the follow up to 2021’s alternative metal album Push. The cult emo icon Jonah Matranga (from post hardcore legends Far and Gratitude) joins the band once again on vocals.

About the track, bassist and founding member Nick Hannon comments;

“The pace of ‘Pull’ and the harmonies tied in with Jonah’s soaring vocals is when we knew we were taking it to the next level. This track embodies the natural evolution of the band away from Push and into the new world of Pull! Experience it!”

Jonah Matranga reveals, “When I heard ‘Pull’ for the first time, I instantly imagined myself flying along in some wild machine. The vocals arrived effortlessly. I think the song ended up being about momentum, autonomy, and creativity. Really getting free. All these ways of moving through our external and internal worlds. I hope you turn it way up while riding or driving really fast, or taking off in a plane, or maybe skydiving. Anything disorienting.”

Having previously collaborated with Godflesh, Karma To Burn, Yawning Man, and members of Kyuss, ISIS, and Queens Of The Stone Age, Sons of Alpha Centauri offers an album that captures the essence of Around The Fur-era Deftones, the simplicity of Water And Solutions-era Far, and the integrity of Will Haven’s Carpe Diem. The hypnotic and harmonic pulse of the music and the soaring introspective power of Jonah’s wrought, raw vocals provide an ever-emotional journey that sees new peaks in performance for all involved.

Pull is a natural evolution to Push, delivering a powerhouse of searing post hardcore, alternative metal and progressive hazy rockAcross the album, Sons of Alpha Centauri capture both a renaissance of the 90s post hardcore of their Sacramento luminaries, and a contemporary take on atmospheric dream-like rock music.

The band is once again joined by drummer Mitch Wheeler – the percussive powerhouse and backbone of Will Haven and founding member of Ghostride and The Abominable Iron Sloth – who, together with guitarist Marlon King and bassist Nick Hannon, deliver a formidable foundation for Matranga’s inimitable overlay.

About the album Nick Hannon comments: “We didn’t know if Push was going to be a one off but everyone involved loved what we did and thought we could collectively drive the sound even further… so Pull is an even more intense and emotionally direct performance from all of us. When Jonah returned to the studio, he came with an ignited fire of intensity. Whereas Push focused on distress, distance and separation, Pull is more cerebral and dream like. We’ve worked to create songs that everyone can engage with but with themes that are distant and eclectic. Immerse yourself!”

Exile On Mainstream will release Pull on LP with a bundled CD and all digital platforms on March 28th. All preorders will receive two free posters from a series of four – the label will carry two, and the artist will carry the other two – and all physical preorder copies will ship two weeks before street date. Preorders are available at the label webshop, and the band’s Bandcamp, and digital presaves can be found here.

Ranked No. 8 in Metal Hammer‘s Top 10 Alternative Metal albums, 2021

The results are absolutely explosive. Fans of Far, as well as post-hardcore/alternative metal contemporaries like Quicksand, are going to absolutely eat this up.” – Metal Sucks

A dose of heavy, soaring post-hardcore that really sounds like it could be a new Far song, which is a very good thing to sound like.” – Brooklyn Vegan
