SOHO DUKES have been added to A New Day Festival in Faversham this Sunday where Martin Turner (ex Wishbone Ash) has had to pull out while the band members grieve in private at this most difficult time due to the passing of drummer Tim Brown

“Under very sad circumstance we will be headlining the Mick Abrahams / Dee Palmer stage at A New Day festival in Faversham Kent this Sunday 23 August.”

“The sad circumstances is that Tim Brown, the drummer from Martin Turner‘s Wishbone Ash, has passed away after a short illness. We will play our set as a tribute to him”

Martin Turner previously commented:

“It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our bandmate and friend, Tim Brown has passed away. Tim was a much-loved member of our band and will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing and making music with him.

We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of Tim‘s family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.Rest peacefully Tim, You will never be forgotten.”

A NEW DAY takes place at Mount Ephraim Gardens, Faversham between August 21st to 23rd and features Sweet, Hawkwind, Gong, Stray, Lindisfarne and many more

On the closing night of a UK tour, opening for The Quireboys, as they had done for the previous truly unforgettable fortnight, the brakes were fully off at Esquires in Bedford.

The Dukes raced through a thirteen-song set drawn from each of their three studio albums, at one point joined on stage by Spike for a gloriously rabble-rousing version of ‘A Stone’s Throw’ from ‘Nighthawks, Acrobats and Everything under The Moon’.
