Gothenburg, Sweden-based sleaze metallers Smoking Snakes are a recent signing to Frontiers and will release their debut album, ‘Danger Zone’, on 9th February 2024. A first single and video from it for the song ‘Sole Survivors’ are available from today.
Known for their high-energy performances and a sound that pays homage to a golden era of rock (W.A.S.P., Ratt, Dokken, Kiss), albeit blended with a modern edge, ‘Danger Zone’ sees Smoking Snakes solidify a spot in the upper echelons of their genre and will captivate listeners worldwide. “It’s our aim to start writing a new chapter for the music we love. We aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, but at the same time we are using our own experiences and passion for the sleaze genre and are committed to keeping it alive,” they state.
‘Danger Zone’ is produced by Jakob Herrmann and was recorded at his iconic Top Floor Studios. Having worked with a diverse range of acclaimed acts such as Amaranthe, Raised Fist and Evergrey, he also honed his skills working with the likes of Anthrax, Europe and Hardcore Superstar.
Smoking Snakes made a thunderous entrance onto the scene in 2022, grabbing attention with a self-released demo that cranked it up to 11. It wasn’t long before they were snapped up by a heavyweight label in the form of Frontiers, who are now proud to present the band’s game-changing debut album.
