Norwegian blackened-hardcore five-piece group Sibiir have announced the release of their third album “Undergang” on May 14th via Fysisk Format. Recorded at Caliban Studios at Storsjøen, Norway by Ruben Willem with additional recordings done at FrontRow Studio in Ålesund by Fredrik Ingebrigtsen, and at Brageveien Studio by Øyvind Røsrud Gundersen, mixed and mastered by Ruben Willem, “Undergang” features the cover artwork by Danny Larsen and is now available for pre-order at this location: https://sibiir.bandcamp.com/album/undergang The album’s leading single “Placid Waters” is now playing at the band’s Bandcamp page here: https://sibiir.bandcamp.com/album/undergang The band had this to say about this new track: “It’s a song about how kids are struggling to meet the expectations society place on them, and their attempt to tame their own chaos in search for placid waters. It contains all the classic Sibiir-elements from blast beats to big atmospheric half-time parts, but it also shows a new and fresh side of Sibiir. The melodic sing-along friendly call and response chorus makes me want to drive too fast, or drink too many beers. Perfect for Wacken, really.” With backgrounds in such diverse groups as Sigh & Explode, Jack Dalton, Do You Love Melena? and Call:Vega, SIBIIR was formed in 2014 in Oslo, Norway, and since then the band have released a two-track EP and two full-length albums to widespread critical acclaim. |
