ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM OUT NOW NORTHER VIA THIRTY TIGERS/GERONIMO WEST RECORDS LISTEN HERE
Shane Smith & The Saints have released the video for the stirring anthem ‘Wheels’, which is an ode to life on the road and the struggles endured from countless hours of touring.
Smith comments, “This song is a reflection on our years of grinding away and touring without much success. In a way it sounds sonically happy and lightweight, while also singing of some of the lowest moments and revelations you can face while on the road. ‘And our foggy headlights, they still shine but not so bright. We’re free with our hands tied; alone, but too caught up to feel.’ I think a lot of travellers, especially touring musicians will be able to relate to it in many ways.”
The track is taken from their latest album Norther, which is out now on Thirty Tigers/Geronimo West Records. Norther is the Austin, TX band’s first album in five years and has proven to be well worth the wait with it being hugely well received by fans and critics alike.
The 13-song collection features great songwriting, passionate performances, thought-provoking narratives, and Smith’s arresting vocals backed by an exceptional band in the Saints, who effortlessly traverse rock, country, folk and Americana. Norther has received high praise from the press. Read an in-depth feature on the album in Rolling Stone.
Following the release in March, the band made their Grand Ole Opry debut before heading to the UK in May for a standout performance at Highways Festival at The Royal Albert Hall. In November the band will be coming back to wow UK audiences again as support to Kaleo, which includes a show at Wembley Arena.
Continuing their momentous rise, Shane Smith & the Saints also made their US network television debut on CBS Saturday Morning with performances of ‘It’s Been A While’, ‘The Greys Between’ and the hit single ‘All I See Is You’, which was featured in season 4 of the TV series Yellowstone.
In 2023, the band sold out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in one day and recently released the in its entirety, with the audio now remixed and mastered. It includes appearances by Molly Tuttle and Charles Wesley Godwin. You can watch and listen here.
