Coming out of the western-Massachusetts hardcore scene is HOLDER, channeling the greatness of ‘90s/early 00’s screamo and post-hardcore through a modern lens. Forming in 2024, the band released their self-titled EP that summer to immense response and soon found themselves playing shows alongside Static Dress, Balmora, Febuary, skycamefalling, and more. Today the band release absolute frenzy with their two song EP, Ruin The Best Of Me, available through DAZE.
“Inconsolable” drives from feedback and chants into a two minute crusher as vocalist Brie’s fervent screams run over rhythmic riffs that lead into melodic dissonance. The track gets a music video, filmed and edited by Company Car, showcasing the intense energy of the band’s live show. Watch it HERE. Title track “Ruin The Best Of Me” is an emotional rollercoaster taking influence from bands such as Neil Perry, This Day Forward, and early Underoath. The song is a spin-kicker’s paradise before reaching an experimental reprieve and ending in a cathartic scream along.
Ruin The Best Of Me was produced, mixed, and mastered by Nicholas Zalowski. Stream it HERE.
