Acclaimed songwriter Rory Gillanders has triumphantly returned with his latest track, “Soulless World”. This single not only marks his first release since 2021 but it was also written during the pandemic, imbuing it with an added layer of depth and emotion. Rory’s collaboration with Dublin-based vocalist Sara Jane and Brazilian vocalist Deyse Menzes has resulted in a truly captivating sound.
The track was recorded over several months at Soundcaster Studios in Inchicore under the expertise of Terry Doyle. A gorilla-style music video and artwork were created to visually represent “Soulless World”, capturing a soulless, dystopian world that mirrors the emotional depth of the music. The visual portrayal conveys a sense of emptiness and vastness, echoing the feelings behind the song.
Rory explains, “I wanted to portray a vision of a soulless, dystopian world, a visual representation of what I was feeling when I wrote the track.” Despite its origins in feelings of being lost and trapped, “Soulless World” ultimately becomes an anthem of hope, emphasizing the idea that even in moments of desolation, we are not alone”
