Rainbow Kitten Surprise have unveiled a new single entitled “Espionage” available today via Atlantic Records, streaming on all platforms now.  Listen HERE.

The band initially teased the track as their official walkout theme during last year’s Love Hate Music Box Tour, giving crowds a taste of this “anti-love anthem.” Fans clamored for its proper release online, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise have delivered by reworking and officially recording “Espionage” just in time for Valentine’s Day.

RKS frontperson Ela Melo explains, “’Espionage’ is a deep cut representative of our time and work with Daniel Tashian. It was one of the tracks that helped start off the Love Hate Music Box recordings. I was so nauseous that I wrote it and sang it while laying on the floor the first time we recorded it.  We decided to revisit it in October 2024 to show fans what we were up to. Hope you enjoy.”

The song’s laidback beat underlines piano-laden verses. Meanwhile, a funky guitar riff struts beneath the chantable chorus, “Everything gets hard. This is espionage. I spy your heart breaking.” The song effectively doubles as a bridge into the band’s next musical era, nodding to the genre alchemy they’re known for while also creatively forging ahead again.

Be on the lookout for a special visual to accompany the track in the coming weeks.

To celebrate today’s arrival of “Espionage,” the band is hosting a tattoo pop-up at Duel In The Sun Tattoo in Nashville, TN.  Starting at 11am, fans in attendance can get free tattoos inspired by the single artwork on a first come, first served basis.  More information at www.instagram.com/duelinthesun.

Next up, Rainbow Kitten Surprise are heading back on the road for a North American headline run this spring with New Translations, Michael Marcagi, Petey USA, and Medium Build joining on select dates. The tour kicks off at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on May 12 in Calgary, Alberta and includes stops at Bonnaroo and the band’s first ever Alaska date before coming to a close with a sold-out performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, on September 8. The band partnered with PLUS1 on last year’s Love Hate Music Box Tour as well, raising $50,000 for hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina and over $65,000 to be split between 34 local LGBTQ+ organizations in each market. On their Tiny Music Box Tour in May, they also raised over $26,000 for 5 local LGBTQ+ organizations in the cities they played.

In November of last year, Rainbow Kitten Surprise wrapped up their Love Hate Music Box Tour, which included the band’s first ever arena headline shows, along with stops at iconic venues including New York’s Radio City Music Hall and two nights at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

The band also released their first full-length release in six years in May 2024, Love Hate Music Box. Listen HERE. The record was released to widespread critical acclaim from Consequence, Billboard, Paste, SPIN, and more.
