Pure Noise Records and Pabst Blue Ribbon teamed up for the third consecutive year to present ‘Dead Formats Volume 3’, a 16-track compilation featuring the Pure Noise Records roster featuring artists that tug the heartstrings of nostalgia like Spanish Love Songs, Senses Fail, Cloud Nothings and ‘68. “The only other cover song we’ve ever released is a version of The Boys Are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy, back in 2013. I don’t know anything about what Thin Lizzy singer Phil Lynott was like as a person, and I wish I knew less about what Glenn Danzig was like a person, but I think having our only cover songs be The Boys Are Back in Town and Halloween 1 & 2 genuinely speaks to the type of people we are. The concept with Volume 1 was originally curated as a way for fans to discover new, like-minded bands, the same way legendary comps like Atticus’ Dragging The Lake, Punk O Rama, or how the Vans Warped Tour Compilations did in the 90’s and 2000’s.
