About Public Figure: Public Figure is an alternative pop-rock band whose focus has been writing with the exclusive purpose of making their songs catchy and fun for themselves and their audience. With influences ranging from The Strokes and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Maroon 5, their debut singles “Poor and Pretty,” “Better Sleep,” and “Hollywood” have galvanized their local scene in Omaha, Nebraska, leading to multiple sold-out shows and a crowd that is obsessed with their art and personalities.
The band is comprised of four permanent members whose work ethic and experience in previous acts are now combined in a focused and potent team – Dolan Delano (bass) founded the band in 2019, and through a few lineup changes, has brought RJ Klingsporn (guitar) and John Faist (drums) into the band from their previous project Chasing Chance. Together with Roger Slatten (vocals), formerly of Letterbox, they have established a cult following in Omaha and surrounding major cities such as Lincoln, Des Moines, Denver, Cheyenne WY, and Kansas City. It is not uncommon to see crowds of 200-600 at shows where Public Figure plays – their personal draw in Omaha at shows they play once or twice a year can be upwards of 300+ on their own.
Public Figure is a band that strives to make music their lifelong career. To that end, they are willing to do the work required to make a lifelong impact on the industry and emotionally connect with our ever-growing fanbase. The band has recently released their glossy single “Lindy.” The track embodies an ear catching sleek sound that’s draped in glistening vocals. “This song is actually about our lead singer, Roger, falling in love with his wife, Lindy.” Says the band about the track. “We wanted to keep the music video simple but powerful, so we decided to just film ourselves performing it live. The cool part is, if you watch closely, you’ll see Roger not just singing to the crowd—but also to Lindy, who’s right there in the front row. It’s just us, our friends, and their love. Drew Kohler, the mastermind behind Orange Bear Films in Omaha, did an incredible job bringing it all together and capturing a really raw moment. We’re absolutely stoked about how it turned out and hope everyone else loves it as much as we do!”
The band expands on their fresh new dynamics with their newest single, “The Enemy,” out on November 21 across all platforms.
