Pa Sheehy, hailing from the picturesque town of Dingle in County Kerry, has emerged as one of Ireland’s most heartfelt voices. Formerly the frontman of the critically acclaimed indie‑pop outfit Walking on Cars, Sheehy now embraces a deeply introspective solo path that blends folk, indie, and alternative textures

Born and raised on the rugged Dingle Peninsula, Sheehy helped form Walking on Cars in the early 2010s. With hits such as “Speeding Cars” and “Catch Me If You Can”, the band topped the Irish charts and garnered a devoted following across Europe before disbanding in 2020.

Post‑band, Sheehy unveiled his debut solo single “Saw You at a Funeral” in June 2021, followed by “Róisín” and the EP The Art of Disappearing, which entered the Irish Albums Chart at No. 9. Later he released the nostalgic EP Lost in a ’90s Arcade, showcasing raw, vulnerable vocals and intimate lyricism.

Heavily influenced by artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver, Tom Waits, and A Blaze of Feather, Sheehy has pivoted from arena‑ready anthems to a more stripped‑down, emotionally direct soundscape.

“Maybe It Was All For This” – Debut LP

Released on October 11, 2024, Maybe It Was All For This is a deeply personal journey through memory, transformation, and acceptance. Drawing on recollections from his teenage years in Dingle, the album shifts across tempos and moods—from poignant ballads to soaring, introspective anthems.

A compelling live performer, Sheehy supported Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park’s BST in July 2023—an experience that shaped his stagecraft for intimate and emotional live sets.

He’s since toured extensively across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, including a widely praised “Unplugged” acoustic run in spring 2024 and a full-scale tour following his album release in late 2024 and early 2025.
