Rock n’ rollers OTIS, hailing from the genre blending pot of Kentucky USA, are pleased to release their punchy, swinging new groove laden single and video ‘I’m Wicked’. Boone Froggett (frontman/guitarist) laughs about the genesis of the song, “It’s a funny story! Lyrically it came from Alex influencing the song telling us about a funeral he was at. Families were there, all talking to the preacher as they filed out, and when he met Alex he kind of just stood back saying “Son, I can’t shake your hand. You’ve got the evil in you.” At practice he was telling us about it, we all thought it hilarious as Alex is one of the nicest guys around!”

With Classic Rock Magazine describing them as “deliciously swampy, late 60s/early 70s rock n’ soul fare” Boone goes on, “I think a lot of people can relate to Alex’s story, you know sometimes you get singled out for no reason. It’s more of a traditional blues style than our last one, sure there’s a Bobby Rush vibe but we spiced it up with more rock n’ roll changes.” Recorded in a live full band take at The Rock House in Franklin Tennessee, renowned Grammy Award winning musician Kevin McKendree (Brian Setzer, George Thorogood) produced and mastering duties came courtesy of Ty Tabor of the acclaimed US rock band Kings X.

While it would be easy to categorise the band’s sound as southern rock, their musical palette is clearly much broader. Alongside Boone with co-founder John Seeley (bass), Alex Wells (guitar), and Dale Myers (drums), the tight-knit guys stay connected to their homegrown roots having been around traditional instruments from a young age in piano, fiddle and guitar instilling in them an appreciation of country-rock, bluegrass and folk music and were brought up on deep-diving vinyl collections. Of the new single renowned US guitarist Sean Chambers, who was mentored by the late great Hubert Sumlin, has enthused “A band with a sound way beyond their years, bringing raw energy and killer performances, one of my favourite up and coming bands; they are the REAL DEAL!”

Bearing a reputation for incendiary crowd engaging shows playing world famous venues in Allman Brothers Big House Macon Georgia and The Iridium New York, previously a chance meeting with Billy F Gibbons led to the legend listening and becoming a friend and fan of the band – even handing their albums off to the likes of Buddy Guy and Jeff Beck. Previous US/UK tours have included sharing stages with household names in ZZ Top, The Kentucky Headhunters, Jackyl, Blackberry Smoke and UK favourites Kris Barras Band. With this new cut, listeners can expect more throughout 2026 encompassing melodic howling vocals of stories to tell, slick intertwining guitars and soulful grooves…that’s OTIS.
