French progressive metal band OSM today share the title track of their forthcoming new EP “Plagued By Doubts”, which is scheduled for release on April 28th via Klonosphere/Season of Mist. Listen to “Plagued by Doubts” here. With a dark, melodic and equally heavy sound that combines pummelling rhythms, crushing riffs and soaring melodies, OSM quickly generated buzz with their first EP “Which Way” released in 2019. Now in 2023, the band is really to release a new EP titled “Plagued by Doubts”, a work that display an immeasurable progression and will surely solidify their ranks amongst the most promising progressive metal bands from France. Recorded at the Studios du Riveau, mixed by Chris Edrich (Devin Townsend, The Ocean, Leprous, Klone) and mastered by Pierrick Noel, “Plagued by Doubts” is a satirical vision of the world today, a bitter observation of the human condition, its inconsistencies and what they imply. Rage, anger, powerlessness, despair, constant pressure, all these chimeras are expressed through a subtle succession of nuances. Musically, the EP displays OSM own unique brand of progressive metal, merging head-crushing riffs, puzzling riffs, progressive mastery, chantable melodies and orchestral arrangements with admirable precision and creative finesse. |
