New album ‘Look Now’ to be released 21st July
(Thursday 6th April) – Oscar Lang returns with new single ‘A Song About Me’ out now via Dirty Hit. The track has been produced by Rich Turvey (The Coral, Blossoms). It’s the first track to be taken from Oscar’s forthcoming album ‘Look Now’, set to be released on 21st July.
‘A Song About Me’ is a huge step forward in Oscar’s development. It is his most ambitious music to date – more expansive, more daring, more open. Lush melodies are to the fore as he sings of lost love as the song marks the start of the next stage in Oscar’s musical adventures.
On the track Oscar says…
“’A Song About Me’ is a break up song that is honest and open but self-aware. I wanted to write in a similar world to you’re so vain by Carly Simon or love song by Sara Bareilles. A break up song for all the people that have had their hearts broken, it’s got bit of bite but at the end of the day means well. I took influence for the sound from classic songwriters like Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and mixed them with a bit of 90s Britpop a la Verve and Oasis.”
Alongside ‘A Song about Me’ Oscar is revealing his new album ‘Look Now’ will be released on 21st July. A spellbinding record, the tracklisting is below –
- A Song About Me
- Everything Unspoken
- Crawl
- Leave Me Alone
- Blow Ur Cash
- Circle Line
- Take Me Apart
- On God
- One Foot First
- When You Were A Child (feat. Molly Payton)
Oscar performed a preview of the new single and other new tracks from his forthcoming album at The Slaughtered Lamb last week. It was the first opportunity fans had to see Oscar performed these songs live at this intimate sold-out show.
