WATCH “DRAMA KING” HERE.After paying homage to Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus and then teaming up with Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie on the follow-up track, Alternative/pop-punk four-piece 408 are back with a brand new single and video for “Drama King”. The single writing an open letter to the toxic people that hold you down in life, as they fight back and cut out the infection. “Drama King” is the latest release from 408’s upcoming new album Out Of It, the debut album coming later this year under their new label deal Regime Music Group and BreakSilence Recordings.
“The song ‘Drama King” was written to highlight all of the wrongdoings and narcissism that goes on between men in friendships or relationships. I think the entire band have all had multiple people in their lives that tried to hold them down, were constantly negative and belittling as friends, and overall just a bad human come in and out of their lives,” said 408 bassist/vocalist Mark Faroudi.
He continues, “The band has always loved the song ‘Man Overboard’ by Blink-182. 408 wanted to bring that energy into 2022 while also touching on nostalgic sounds of the very early 2000s. The band wanted to make a fun “American Pie” type-diss track with some EDM drops and a sound that blends well into the coming year.”
408 are riding high from the release of the album’s first single “Mark Hoppus” featuring Kellin Quinn and Joshua Roberts from Magnolia Park was released. The song is an homage to blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus, and the video premiered on Alternative Press and playfully parodies the blink-182 classic “What’s My Age Again?” with members of 408 running wild in nothing more than their birthday suits. The song would go on to grab the attention of the legendary pop-punker himself when he responded to the band via social media saying, “Very honored! But have I ever been cool? Even without the name check it’s a jam!”
“Mark Hoppus” has gone on to garner more than 500,000 streams on Spotify, propelling 408 past 5 million streams already this year, as more and more fans continue to get turned onto 408’s eclectic sound.
408 recently signed with Regime Music Group and BreakSilence Recordings to release the band’s debut album, Out Of It, later this year. The album was recorded with platinum award-winning producer/engineer Andrew Wade and Andy Karpovck (A Day To Remember, Neck Deep) at The Audio Compound in Orlando. Out Of It aims to revitalize the anthemic songs that became soundtracks to countless Warped Tour or skate videos.
408 brings back the nostalgia of late 90s/early 2000s pop-punk and mixes in fresh elements of EDM, hip-hop and electronica to create something fresh and original. After releasing a series of EPs to break onto the scene, 408 was named one of Earmilk’s “Top Alt-Rock Bands of Summer 2020” and quickly became editorial playlist darlings at Apple Music and Spotify. 408 is finding their home blending the familiar pop-punk sound of yesteryear with today and tomorrow’s alternative, hip-hop, and EDM influences.
