ONE WEEK TO GO UNTIL SUPERSONIC FESTIVAL

NEW NAMES ADDED INCLUDING FEEO, GUTTERSNIPE, HANG LINTON, THORN WYCH, LUCIFER SKY, JENNIFER REID, HARRY GORSKI-BROWN, MONOXIDE BROTHERS, PEIRIANT & ANCIENT HOSTILITY

JOINING MICROPLASTICS (AYA WITH 96 BACK AND JENNIFER WALTON IN A WORLDWIDE PREMIERE), PROSTITUTE, ØXN, MILKWEED & MORE

One week to go until the special, limited edition of Supersonic Festival, which is arriving earlier and in a more intimate form this year – with an undiminished spirit! Tickets are long sold out but check out the website for the day breakdowns here.

Supersonic is delighted to present a worldwide exclusive of Microplastics, a new live band featuring 96 back, aya and Jennifer Walton. Microplastics has taken several forms over time, moving from a rowdy DJ collective to a behind-the-scenes production unit, and now fully into life as a rock band. The festival is equally delighted to welcome back ØXN (featuring members of Lankum, Percolator, and Katie Kim). Other previously announced performers include; ProstituteMilkweed, Bong II, Ameretat and more.

Rounding off the line up, Supersonic are excited to confirm Feeo who shall weave hyper personal narratives into immersive soundscapes, blending drone, ambient textures, experimental electronics, and minimalist rhythms. The ferociously inventive duo Guttersnipe twisting rock into hallucinatory, queer-fuelled chaos in celebration of their new album Extinction Burst!. Returning again this year is Hang Linton with a late-night set primed for pure party energy, and the powerhouse Jennifer Reid, who brings Lancashire dialect to life, serenading from ‘atop a beer barrel’ with unruly edge. Then, transforming into DJ Yung Grim Reaper, she shifts gears completely spinning everything from scammer rap to egg punk, Northern soul and beyond. Bringing full Saturday night party energy, expect fists pumping and dancing shoes well worn.

Thorn Wych‘s otherworldly songs twist and fold in unexpected ways, and are sung in tongues both familiar and alien. Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist Harry Górski-Brown fuses traditional music with experimental electroacoustic sound, blending heritage and innovation, creating immersive sonic landscapes that span folk, electronics, and avant-garde textures. Monoxide Brothers are a Birmingham-based duo whose scrawled lyrics come alive in tracks that are weirdly catchy, uncompromising. Peiriant shall deliver a rich and sonorous auditory experience, Lucifer Sky (the solo project of Indira Lakshmi) shall present uncompromisingly erratic, viscerally personal experimentations in noise, and finally, close harmony folk duo Ancient Hostility will perform their powerful songs blending vivid storytelling with a fierce political edge. Emerging from the legacy of bands like Dawn Ray’d, they channel radical histories and contemporary struggles into their music, drawing on folk traditions to amplify voices of resistance, vulnerability, and defiance. And as part of the extra curricular programming this year, they will be collaborating with a choir of Supersonic attendees.

Adding to the program of extra-curricular activities, Hipkiss & Graney’s Microscopic’s Life-Drawing Disco Extravaganza. There will be a screening of the Sirens (2022) documentary in collaboration with Falasteen on Film. Lia Mice will also be hosting an eco-friendly fabric synthesizer building workshop, exploring sound, technology, and creative expression. AHRKH (A P Macarte of GNOD / Golden Ratio Frequencies / NTS Radio) invites you to recalibrate body, mind, and spirit in a Sound Bath. Learn protest songs with Debbie Armour (Burd Ellen) and Ancient Hostility.

Supersonic Festival’s much-loved Market Place returns in 2026, taking over the Zellig Building in the heart of Digbeth on Saturday 25 April. Free and open to all, the event is presented in partnership with The Goths Playground and the team at Zellig, long-time champions of Digbeth’s independent and alternative cultural scene. A vibrant hub of independent creativity, this year’s Market Place will bring together record sellers, zine-makers, illustrators, DIY designers and purveyors of curious handmade goods from rare vinyl to beautifully crafted oddities, from tarot readings to a flash day with House of Thieves Tattoos, there’s plenty to explore. The Market Place will also host workshops including making transfer print keyrings with Shelanu, a collective of migrant and refugee women working with Craftspace to develop craft skills and confidence. You can also make block printed protest banners with Natasha Taheem, make talismans with Bunny Bissoux. And there are the Supersonic staples including Stuart Maconie’s annual pub quiz, and this year’s Supersonic Kid’s Gig will be with Hang Linton, and hosted by Emily Dore.

PRAISE FOR SUPERSONIC FESTIVAL:

★★★★★ THE GUARDIAN

★★★★★ THE ARTS DESK

“The festival still manages to not just survive, but thrive. It could even be argued that the tougher things get in the city around them, Supersonic’s power increases in reaction. This vitality, you sense, is thanks to two things – firstly, the unbroken sense of community among the crowd, who are as friendly and inclusive as it comes, buying entirely into the festival’s wider DIY ethos. Secondly, the programming itself, which is faultless.” THE QUIETUS

“Diversity has always been a key pillar of Supersonic. Not just in terms of demographics – the festival’s assortment of experimental acts guarantees each year the boundaries of heaviness are pushed in exciting new directions.” METAL HAMMER
