Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 – Texas alt-rock quartet Olive Vox return with “We Are Not The Same,” a volatile new single that continues the band’s rapid rise following recent releases BABYDOLL, T.A.N.G.O, Dying Breath, and 14 Years. Released via Big Machine Rock, the track arrives as the band build serious momentum both online and onstage, fresh off recent US runs with Badflower and Raue, ahead of a summer tour supporting The Toadies from August through October. Fans can stream “We Are Not The Same” HERE and watch the accompanying music video HERE.

“We Are Not The Same” examines the wreckage left behind when a relationship breaks under the weight of emotional self-destruction. The song shifts between guilt and defensiveness, pushing Olive Vox further into the kind of sharp-edged songwriting that has quickly become central to their sonic identity.

Providing further insight into their latest offering, Olive Vox share

“This track explores the emotional self-destruction and the fallout of a relationship. The internal struggle of a person who realizes they were the negative force in their partner’s life, bouncing between deep regret and a defensive need to shift blame. By balancing the longing for a lost connection with the bitterness of being alone, the song captures the move from being close to someone to the harsh reality of being “not the same.” Ultimately, it is an honest portrait of the guilt and resentment that surface when you realize you were the storm in someone else’s sky.”

The release continues a breakout stretch for the band, who have already surpassed 834,000 cross-platform streams alongside more than 1.3 million YouTube views. Olive Vox have steadily built their audience through a combination of restless live energy, instinctive songwriting, and a growing digital presence that has connected particularly strongly with younger alternative rock fans.

That momentum carries into a packed summer. In July, the band will appear as featured guests and musicians at Camp Woodward, mentoring campers within the music program from July 5th through July 11th before heading back out on the road with The Toadies beginning August 6th.

Olive Vox channel sonic electricity from the natural chemistry between them. Like four livewires sparking on contact, the Texas-based quartet, Parker James on vocals, Caden Shea on guitar, Dayton Phillips on drums, and Ben Reid on bass, have carved out a reputation through sweat-soaked live shows, emotionally charged songwriting, and a sound that pulls from alternative rock, post-punk, indie, and modern heavy music without feeling confined to any one lane.

Originally formed by brothers Parker and Caden before expanding into a full band with the addition Ben Reid and Dayton Phillips, Olive Vox first gained traction with releases like “Wash You Away” and “All My Friends Are Dead.” Their 2024 cover of Cage The Elephant’s “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked” further accelerated attention online, while live appearances alongside Ty Segall, Puddle of Mudd, VIOLENT VIRA, and festival performances at Summerfest and Levitation Festival continued to push the band into wider conversation.

Now building toward their 2026 debut EP on Big Machine Rock, Olive Vox continue to evolve in real time, sharpening both their sound and their audience with every release.
