Nine Inch Nails have been confirmed for July 12 on the NOS Stage at the 17th edition of NOS Alive. The iconic industrial rock band founded by Trent Reznor will return to Portugal at Passeio Marítimo de Algés to co-headline alongside Kings Of Leon.
Bringing industrial rock into the mainstream, Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails (NIN) defined the 1990s with hits like “Head Like a Hole”, “Closer” and “Hurt”. Albums like The Downward Spiral (1994) and The Fragile (1999) topped the charts, while the band won two Grammys for Best Metal Performance. In the 2000s, NIN’s style evolved, influenced by Reznor’s work on Oscar-winning soundtracks. In 2016, Reznor welcomed English producer Atticus Ross, his longtime collaborator, as an official band member. Together, they have expanded NIN’s legacy with projects such as Bad Witch (2018) and the instrumental Ghosts series (Ghosts V and VI, released in 2020).
While working as a studio assistant, Reznor recorded NIN’s debut album Pretty Hate Machine (1989), which mixed dark industrial themes with accessible choruses. The album won over a loyal audience, propelling NIN into the mainstream. Subsequent releases such as Broken (1992) and The Downward Spiral cemented their reputation, receiving critical acclaim and redefining alternative music. More recently, Reznor and Ross worked together on Luca Guadagnino’s latest productions, Queer, where they won the Golden Globe for Best Original Score for the film Challengers.
From chaotic live performances to innovative visual media and acclaimed soundtracks, NIN continue to innovate. Recent achievements include induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a resurgence in popular culture and collaborations with leading artists. With Reznor and Ross at the helm, NIN remains a defining force in music and beyond, blending industrial roots with visionary creativity.
July 12 marks the iconic band’s return to Portugal to take to the NOS Stage at NOS Alive’25.
Additionally, the iconic French electronic music duo Justice, is the latest confirmation for NOS Alive’25, on July 11 on the NOS Stage.
After winning the coveted Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album in 2018, Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé worked step by step on the creation of their new album, HYPERDRAMA, which was released in April 2024. HYPERDRAMA is described as an expanded emotional universe, where joy, sadness and anger coexist at maximum intensity, offering an immersive and deeply human experience.
In July this year, the NOS Stage will host Justice’s long-awaited show at the 17th edition of NOS Alive.
