The tracks are a powerful celebration of nature, heritage, and rebirth from the Scottish alt-rock visionaries. Following a sold-out headline show at Glasgow’s legendary Cathouse and appearances alongside Skindred, Enter Shikari, and at Download Festival, the band now turns inward and upward, toward the sky itself, with a bold and meditative release crafted in honour of the solstice. The release is timed with Litha, the ancient midsummer festival marking the longest day of the year, a sacred turning point in Celtic and pagan traditions. The tracks are more than songs, they’re sonic rituals meant to be experienced in the moment: headphones on, eyes up, grounded in nature. “We wanted to offer a shared moment of stillness,” says Leon Hunter, the band’s vocalist. “In a time of hyper-distraction, there’s something powerful about aligning with the rhythms of the natural world. Watching the sun rise or fall while the music plays – it’s a kind of modern ritual.” To accompany the release, the band has created two stunning art films, directed by Ruari Barber-Fleming. Filmed at Cairnpapple Hill, a Bronze Age burial site and neolithic henge, the videos feature North Atlas’ signature folkloric visuals, ritual dance, and cinematic imagery that bridges past and present. ‘Dawn’ was released at 4:00 AM BST, capturing the moment the sun rises. Followed by ‘Dusk’, released at 9:00 PM BST, mirroring its fall. |
