Formed in 2022 among college friends, Bed Bug Guru came together bonding over bands like DIIV, Duster, and Modern Color. Wanting to sound like a “bad trip,” the band’s output and live show drives off pedal effects and glitched out visuals. Today, the San Francisco based band release their debut album, Double Scoop, through Superbloom Records. Recorded live to tape with Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden (Deafheaven, Gouge Away), the nine tracks on the album are drenched in hazy distortion with sludgy riffs and slacker vocals. Complementing the swampy noise filled tracks are moments of lo-fi ambience that create an immersive experience for the listener meant to scratch a certain itch in your brain.
Expanding deeper on what to expect from the album, the band shares:
“A lot of the lyrics deal with frustration and self reflection, feelings of monotony and uncertainty. Instrumentally there’s a lot of anger, screeching guitars and vocals and pummeling drums.”

The band celebrate the album release tonight with a show at Dead End Vintage in San Francisco with Valentina Bludgeoned and Kilroy Rogers.
