Noisepicker new album The Earth Will Swallow The Sun out today

NOISEPICKER RELEASE NEW ALBUM,
THE EARTH WILL SWALLOW THE SUN

OUT VIA EXILE ON MAINSTREAM TODAY

ALBUM NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

With more than a quarter of a century of noise making history behind him, Harry Armstrong returns alongside drummer Kieran Murphy as Noisepicker, for The Earth Will Swallow The Sun, a brawny new release heaving with off-kilter bluesy rock ‘n’ roll which is released via Exile on Mainstream today.

Do not expect neat, polished, note perfect, carefully constructed sound on The Earth Will Swallow The Sun. Noisepicker are loud and abrasive. They pay homage to the genres which made them fall in love with music in the first place – doom, punk and blues – and bring it all together in a hearty and heavy concoction that is all their own.

About the album, Harry says;

“We set out to make an album that’s raw, energetic, live and brutally honest, and we think the result speaks for itself. Recorded in an afternoon in a room with carpeted walls, using equipment older than ourselves, and embracing a complete disregard for modern recording techniques, this album sounds like a band in a room because that’s what it is. If you seek perfection, look away. Any flaws you hear are real. Any mistakes, human. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Enjoy!”

PRESS FOR THE EARTH WILL SWALLOW THE SUN:

“… a brilliant slice of dark eccentricity. Recalling in equal measure the more warped moments of Irish noiseniks Therapy?, Nick Cave and, at times, something of the claustrophobic magic of Chelsea Wolfe, it’s a jagged listen, a journey through life’s dark side via the medium of satisfyingly off-kilter riffs.” – KERRANG!

“one of those rare albums that restores your faith in the enduring power of rock ‘n’ roll at a time when everything else seems to be getting quantised into oblivion.” – 10/10, SONIC ABUSE

“It’s a hangover in the blazing heat, it’s whiskey when all you want is water, it’s that dry throat feeling after a mouthful of cinnamon. As bluesy raw emotion goes, this is second to none. It doesn’t feel overly produced, it’s a low key, spit and sawdust kinda affair, which will leave you gasping for more… Noisepicker really is one of a kind.” – THE SLEEPING SHAMAN

“Sans-bullshit heavy crunch? With a chorus? I know; be still my beating heart.” – THE OBELISK

“Blues. Noise. Punk. Those are the main musical ingredients of the sound of Noisepicker. Amazingly they create a sound that uses all of them and unites them under a brittle soundscape where they can get together without any trying to outshine the other. Every note seems to serve a superior, common thread and goal. That may partially be to entertain the audience but it also surely is to give the duo an outlet for those sounds that none of their other bands can provide.” – VEIL OF SOUND

“The Earth Will Swallow The Sun is something else. It’s the sound of a pair of extremely capable musicians really testing themselves, and having fun in the process. It’s fun to listen to, too. Hard, and harrowing at times and in places, but ultimately fun.” – AURAL AGGRAVATION
