GUITARIST AND SOUND ARTIST NINA GARCIA AUTUMN LIVE DATES
LATEST ALBUM BYE BYE BIRD OUT NOW
VIA IDEOLOGIC ORGAN
Since 2015, Nina Garcia has been conducting research and creating music on the electric guitar, halfway between improvised music and noise. Her setup is minimal: a guitar, a pedal, and an amp, with which she shapes the sound and delves into chaos to bring out the unheard. She released her first album under her own name, Bye Bye Bird, on Ideologic Organ, in February 2025.
Nina Garcia has announced Autumn live dates in support of the new album – full dates listed below and updated regularly here.

PRESS QUOTES FOR BYE BYE BIRD:
“Her dexterity is clear in her deft pivots from the almost pastoral to clanging furnaces of caustic joy so intense Glenn Branca might have called in 60 strings minimum for the job. For Garcia, six is enough.” – THE WIRE
“There’s a simplicity to the processes and patterns, with timbres that feel more affiliated with sheet metals than strings, as if the root input was not a guitar but Harry Bertoia’s sound sculptures.” – THE QUIETUS, RUM MUSIC
“channels the blues influence that has always been a crucial, yet completely overlooked, element of drone and minimalist music from La Monte Young and onward, into a haunting, zombie-eyed clatter. It almost sounds like Sonny Boy Williamson by way of Aaron Dilloway, a fascinating and original direction to take” – THE QUIETUS, ALBUM REVIEW
“To see her do battle with her battered G&L T-style is to see someone really thinking about the guitar as an instrument to be improved upon. The strings aren’t the only thing that makes noise – what about the neck, the body, the nut?” – GUITAR WORLD
“a minimalistic album in which every nuance rises to the surface” – A CLOSER LISTEN
“An inventive exploration of hidden potentialities” – ELECTRONIC SOUND
“Nina shows the art of the possible with the guitar” – MOONBUILDING WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
