Scotland’s longest running heavy music event – Hordes X – has just announced it’s next batch of 2024 bands, including Saturday headliners, Thulcandra.
The German blackened melodic death metal band, features ex-members of Nailed To Obscurity and Secrets of the Moon, and is fronted by Steffen Kummerer, known for his work in Obscura as well as playing live with Cynic. Last year they unleashed their fifth album, Hail The Abyss, through Napalm Records. They headline Saturday September 28th at Hordes X as the only Scottish stop on a newly announced UK live run.

The 14th edition of Hordes X runs from September 26th – 29th, at Beat Generator Live and Roots Music Venue. Along with Thulcandra, far-out Fife two-piece Melted Messiah, Manchester industrial extremists The Machinist, Oxfordshire death metallers Bloodshot, supreme Edinburgh doom-stoners Acidsaurus Bong and Dundee black metal newcomers Mutalith have just been added to the bill across the weekend.
The 2024 event is further stacked with Scottish exclusives, Dundee debuts, and specially selected appearances from The Infernal Sea, Solar Sons, Crossfire, Brainbath, Ante-Inferno, Opensight, Demolizer and more.
Additionally, along with existing partners and sponsors (Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey and Very Metal Art) Hordes X 2024 will be working with ImperativePR, video startup Obsidian Gate, Kevvymetal Promotions, plus mental health charities Angus Voice and Heavy Metal Therapy.
