The Cold Stares // Jordan Dennis // Live Review // The Nightrain // Bradford

It’s been another sweltering day and we’re only halfway through the working week so what
better way to spend it than in a cool air-conditioned bar watching some live music! The Cold
Stares UK Tour is hitting Bradford tonight for only the second night of the tour.

Sharing some music first is Jordan Dennis who starts the night with some Irish Ragtime.
Dennis is a one-man band with his guitar and harmonica. The simplicity of this really allows
his songwriting and talent to shine. His set is intimate and personal as he tells the audience
details about each song before he plays. As the night goes on his style gets heavier as
moves through blues and country into classic rock. He might be the only man on stage but
he certainly has a presence and can put on a show!

It’s now time for our headliners with The Cold Stares. The trio from Indiana, USA have had 4
hit albums and have reached number 1 on the Amazon Music’s Blues Rock albums chart.
This is their first time in the UK and despite being delayed by the dreaded Covid 19
Pandemic, fans have been excited for the band to hit our shores. As they take to the stage,
they take a moment to greet the crowd before launching into their setlist. Their blues-style
sound is definitely made to be played live as they sound much bigger than on record. With a
great back catalogue of songs to choose from the setlist is full of hits such as “In The Night
Time”.
*Two Keys and a Good Book” and “Any Way The Wind Blows”. They do find space
however to slip in some new songs too with “Waiting on the Rain Again” and “You Got No
Right” which are due to be part of the new album which will be released later in the year.
With a crowd who have mostly travelled to come out tonight, it’s great to see the support the
band has over here. Closing the night with “Mojo Hand” and “Nothing But Blues”, it’s been
an incredible night of live music from a band who are great at what they do.
