Hollywood’s newest rock’n’roll up-and-comers The Bites have released their new single “Heather Leather”. The latest signing to join Earache Records’ modern rock roster (which has been home to the likes of Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement and Blackberry Smoke), The Bites bring the undying rock’n’roll spirit of Sunset Strip to the fore, with the strutting “Heather Leather” being their latest ode to the Hollywood scene.

“Heather Leather” is accompanied by the release of a new music video – watch it here. Directed by Christopher Pearson (Paramore, Eric Church, Escape The Fate), its prime focus was to bring the rock community a video that ‘demands that we have a good time again’, contrasting Fight Club-inspired grit with pillow fight chaos brought by Hollywood’s female rockers.

Frontman Jordan Tyler comments: “Putting the music video together for “Heather Leather” was unlike any experience I’d had before. We’ve all done music videos before but nothing as professional and advanced as this one. Not only did Christopher Pearson, our director, absolutely crush it but he was beyond amazing to work with. We became friends right off the bat and his drive and passion to make something special really showed through the whole process, along with his crew.

“I also have to shout out the girls in the video. They braved through a super cold day wearing very little and still managed to perform like stars. From the lights, to the feathers, to having Christopher shout “YESSSSS” when we rocked out extra hard, I’ll never forget the day we shot “Heather Leather”.”

“Heather Leather” is the latest taster to come from The Bites’ upcoming debut album ‘Squeeze’, due for release on 15th September 2023. It follows the likes of radio hit “Do Me A Favor”, which became the #1 most played track on Planet Rock’s airplay chart alongside a Kerrang! Radio playlist spot.

The Bites have also announced a multitude of opportunities to witness their renowned live show since they began turning heads in their homeland as well as across the pond: August will see them embark on a US tour with Small Town Titans, and they are also featured in the line-up for Planet Rock’s Planet Rockstock festival as well as Winter Rocks festival this Nov/Dec in the UK.

Primed to drop jaws with their monster hybrid of breathtaking garage rock rhythms, gargantuan choruses, unashamedly retro style and, above all, their dedication to making every live show an undeniable excuse to party, The Bites’ debut album ‘Squeeze’ will be ready for rock fans to sink their teeth into on 15th September 2023. ‘Squeeze’ resurrects the style, hop and swagger of early rock’n’roll, displaying the no-nonsense attitude of The Hives and the sheer recklessness of Mötley Crüe. Fans of new rockers Greta Van Fleet, Dirty Honey and The Struts will also delight in the emergence of The Bites.

Having watched his profile on TikTok (@jordantylerbites) blow up, with over 2.2 million likes amassed on his music-obsessing ‘Toks and classic rock covers, Jordan felt compelled to follow his true passion of creating original music and so he founded The Bites with LA drummer, producer extraordinaire and long-time friend Mark Hylander. The duo are joined by guitarists Dustin Coon and Jono Richer, and bassist Zack Currier to round out the sound.

Putting this record, ‘Squeeze’, together, I really wanted to create something timeless. The stigma of “rock is dead” has been so blown out of proportion. All the music we grew up with from the rock legends of the 60s, 70s and 80s, we’ve heard over and over again to the point where it’s become a part of us. We want to give fans something special with ‘Squeeze’, when you hear this album in full, for the first time, hopefully it’ll give you the excitement and joy of albums that you’ve been listening to for decades. It’s gonna get in your bones, baby!” Jordan testifies.

‘Squeeze’ is available to pre-order at earache.com/thebites on limited edition cherry red vinyl, signed zebra print CD with handwritten lyric sheets and more. (The signed leopard CD edition is now sold out!)
