NASHVILLE, TN (June 30, 2023) – Everyone’s favourite good ole country boy, Shane Profitt, released a vulnerable, close-to-home new track today. “Still Picks Up” is available now on all platforms via BMLG Records. The carefree singer-songwriter and rising star continues his rollout of new music, revealing more personal layers and emotion to his usual feel-good, windows-down sound. The sentimental “Still Picks Up” strikes a chord, instantly reminding every listener of the love and appreciation felt for that one person that will always pick up the phone, no questions asked.

Penned from a painful memory forever burned into his mind, “Still Picks Up” came to Profitt as he sat in the hospital waiting room, minutes after his father had suffered from a stroke on their annual hunting trip. Like many others, the artist’s father had always been that one person he could go to for anything, and facing the harsh possibility of losing him, immediately put things into perspective. Profitt knows those feelings of panic, sadness, and regret in the waiting room are something that all folks, Country or not, can relate to on some level.
“I had no idea if I’d ever see him again,” shares Profitt. “When you’re about to lose someone that means so much, you start to reflect on the stupid fights that could have been avoided and all the things you should have said. By the grace of God, my father is okay and here with me today. So, I wrote “Still Picks Up” to remind us to call those important folks in our lives while they can still pick up the phone, because tomorrow is not promised.”
Written alongside Matt Dragstrem (Kenny Chesney, Justin Moore) and Adam James (Jillian Jacqueline, The Cadillac Three), the song still gives off just enough of Profitt’s recognizable upbeat classic Country, but with deeper lyrics that demand a double take. Following his debut EP, Maury County Line, featuring Country radio Top 15 “How It Oughta Be,” “Still Picks Up” serves as the next breadcrumb to his full-length debut album that’s hinted to drop sometime this fall.
Since signing with BMLG Records last year, the Tennessee-native is making a name for himself with his chummy, “what you see is what you get” authenticity, reeling fans in with his fun-loving live show and southern-anthem tunes. After spending the beginning of the summer making debut appearances at incredible events like Country Thunder, Tortuga Music Festival, CMA Fest, and more, Profitt has a packed schedule in the coming months. Touring the country and recording his next phase of music, this rising star is aiming to show fans a little more of who he is and the artist he’s becoming.

ABOUT SHANE PROFITT: A salt of the earth southerner with a straight-shooting swagger and kind smile, Shane Profitt’s musical toolbox is full of all-natural talent. At the end of 2021, he was still pulling overtime at his job with the city, busting his back about an hour south of Nashville and living for the weekend– with a few decades left to go. But now, the 23-year-old is rocking sold-out crowds at the historic Ryman Auditorium, touring with his chart-topping hero Chris Janson, and writing modern Country tunes so genuine, they slip on like a pair of broken-in work boots.
