“The song itself is an introspective look at living with mental health issues. It’s about feeling less than, about trying to change but failing, about wanting it all to end, but ultimately trying to keep it all to yourself. I do feel like there is some hope to it though, about letting these thoughts go, about acknowledging that these battles aren’t caused by the self. It’s not specified what these issues are, as I like the idea that people can relate in many different situations and might in some way find a little piece of hope in a kindred spirit.”
