Brighton trio PROJECTOR have dropped their turbulent new single Hell In My Head. Anthemic and addictive, the track focuses on feelings of disconnect whilst capturing the band’s exciting and abrasive sound.

Hell In My Head is about a sense of dissociation, of losing the ability to stay present, but also giving into disinterest and losing touch with a desire to get better – which is hole you really don’t want to fall into. It’s a pure piece of aggression and catharsis”, explains vocalist and bassist Lucy Sheehan.

Recorded and produced by the band themselves at London’s Lone Star Studio, Hell In My Head anticipates the band’s performance at The Great Escape Festival later this month, and is telling of more to come later this year.

PROJECTOR – Hell In My Head
Formed in 2017 PROJECTOR take influence from the lushest alt-pop of the 90’s, combined with the full-throttle imprint of artists such as Sonic Youth. The three-piece inhabit a unique space where infectious melodies sit alongside experimental and unpredictable musicality.

In 2018 they were the first awardees of PRS & Festival Republic’s Rebalance initiative, and their debut EP How Does It Feel? was welcomed by DIY, Clash and Dork, praising its “cinematic noir”, “stabbing urgency” and “visceral grunge pop”.

Their second EP ZERO, released in 2021 with support from the PRS Open Fund, took PROJECTOR to new heights with the addition of synths and drum machines, whilst retaining their razor sharp attention to hooks.

To date, PROJECTOR’s blistering live show has taken them to a wealth of stages, including support to Cleopatrick, Feeder, Blood Red Shoes, Kid Kapichi, Deap Vally, Tigercub and The Xcerts. The rest of the year will see the band perform at Burn It Down and Bigfoot festivals, with further appearances to be announced very soon.

Hell In My Head is an exhilarating statement of intent from PROJECTOR. Watch this space for more.
