LAURA COX ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE “ONE BIG MESS” / ABLUM TO FOLLOW IN JANUARY 2023
Rising Anglo French rock supremo Laura Cox releases “One Big Mess” and announces her new album – “Head Above Water” on 20 January 2023 via earMUSIC.
Initially renowned for her cover versions of blues & rock classics on YouTube (500K subscribers – 105 million views), Laura Cox managed to become the most viewed Anglo French guitarist & singer in the French and international rock scene.
She then subsequently received great acclaim from both critics and rock fans for her own music, especially for her album BurningBright (2019), which was released internationally by earMUSIC in collaboration with French label Verycords.
Her new album “Head Above Water” contains 11 great rock songs bursting with energy and passion and will be released on 20 January 2023. Recorded at ICP Studios in Brussels by Erwin Autrique, it was mastered by multiple GRAMMY winner Ted Jensen (Eagles, Norah Jones, Green Day).
Growing up in the suburbs of Paris to a French mother and English father, Laura’s first concert aged 11 was to see Elton John in Paris. Her passion for playing guitar grew from listening to her father’s classic rock records and so at the age of 14 she began to emulate her heroes Slash and Joe Bonamassa. Starting acoustically, she quickly realized electric was her thing and began performing on what became her hugely successful Youtube Channel. Meeting like minded guitarist Mathieu Albiac, they went onto form the Laura Cox Band and signed to French label Verycords, releasing their album “Hard Blues Shot” in 2017. In 2019 she launched on a global stage as Laura Cox with her debut album “Burning Bright.“
Last year, Laura played at some of the biggest European festivals (Hellfest, Pol’and’Rock, Rock Palast etc), she interviewed the legendary Scorpions for ARTE TV and she had the honour to have a documentary, about her meteoric rise in the rock scene, produced by German TV station WDR – for the historical show Rockpalast. 2023 looks to be an even bigger year for her … watch this space!
