LA/London based rock act Telling Secrets unveils thunderous LP#1

Drawing on influence from across the width and breadth of rock, Telling Secrets unites scintillating riffs, arena ready breakdowns and soaring injections of melody on massive debut LP, Telling Secrets I.

The new record is an all-filler collection of uplifting modern rock, with Kovacs drawing inspiration everything from metal to pop; punk to emo.

Detailing the tracks, Kovacs explains: “I think ‘Telling Secrets I’ is unique in that I had a hand in every single step of production from the writing, to the final product; both with visuals and audio, which is very rare. I like to understand each part of the process so that I can speak the language of different artists more easily.”

Kovacs continues: “I’ve collaborated with a lot of incredible people in the making of this record and I think it’s a true representation of my style at this moment – I breathe and bleed rock, in all its shades, and I hope that’s apparent when you hear the songs.”

The secret is out. Led by Vik Kovacs and based between London and Los Angeles, alternative rock emergent Telling Secrets has burst onto the scene with a string of outstanding singles. Rooted in rock, but perennially dexterous in delivery, Kovacs cites influence from Led Zeppelin to Sleep Token, Justin Timberlake to Falling in Reverse.

Upcoming debut album Telling Secrets I vouches for this melting pot of inspiration. The tracks are as diverse as they are dynamic; heavy and melodic juxtapose deftly, with classic and modern rock influence duelling at every bend. The multifaceted Kovacs tapped Matt McAndrew (Rain City Drive), Elliot Polokoff (Cemetery Sun) and Rachel Blum (Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B) for production and engineering.

Despite the star-studded cast behind the controls, it’s Telling Secrets’ penmanship that stands proud on LP #1. Acclaim has already begun in earnest, with last year’s “Fall Behind” winning 1st place at the Indie International Songwriting Network Awards. Kovacs’ home country of Hungary followed suit, awarding him the prestigious Petofi Radio Single Award for “Fragile”.

International press support has added fuel to the Telling Secrets fire, with Alyx Holcombe naming recent single, “(They Say) Bliss Is Oblivion” as her Track of the Week on Radio 1’s BBC Introducing Rock, as anticipation builds for the new album.

“I totally lost my mind when I first heard this. Where have you been my entire life?” – Alyx Holcombe, BBC Radio 1

Featuring a stacked set of anthemic rock ragers, Telling Secrets I is a spectacular first entry for the band. Amidst the gloss of the cinematic production and scintillating instrumentation sits a collection of heart-on-sleeve and unerringly relatable tracks, with Kovacs forging an immediate connection with his quickly growing audience.
