(March 23, 2023) Today, LA-based pop-rock duo VOILÀ unveil the official music video for their first single of 2023, “Girls Don’t Come with Instructions” (watch HERE.) The track, which comes after the duo’s 2022 debut full-length album Happy Never After, is a stirring distillation of the pleasures and problems that occur in a budding relationship. “I’ve been wanting to write ‘Girls Don’t Come with Instructions’ for a LONG time,” explains half of VOILÀ, musician and actor Luke Eisner. “My eighth grade girlfriend (if you could even call it that) broke up with me via a letter that said ‘You’re too much of a nice guy. Girls want bad boys, but in a nice way.’ This song is my way of playfully admitting that I wish I could find that instruction manual..”

“Working on ‘Girls Don’t Come with Instructions’ with Kevin Thrasher (MGK, Travis Barker) was an absolute dream,” stated frontman and multi-instrumentalist Gus Ross. “We made the first demo of it at our studio in Sherman Oaks, CA after writing it that day in a session with Thrasher. His work on the production resulted in a goosebump moment for us the moment we heard where he’d taken it for the first time. The drums & guitars especially feel larger than life on the record. A massive shout to Joel Wanasek (Asking Alexandria, A Day to Remember) on the mix too who made the record sound absolutely huge!”

“Our new Music Video for ‘Girls Don’t Come with Instructions’ is our most playful one yet,” the guys reflect. “As we desperately try to understand what this mysterious girl could possibly want we’re constantly changing our approaches (and outfits) to find out what her type is but unfortunately without any success: she’s having none of it. As the desperation ramps throughout the video we come to the ultimate conclusion: We’re unable to crack the code because ‘Girls Don’t Come with Instructions.'”

Earlier this year, the duo released their “Figure You Out” Remix EP, featuring remixes by The Ready Set, COASTR, Stash Konig and more. One of the singles off Happy Never After, “Figure You Out” has amassed nearly 75 million streams on Spotify since its release, and continues to gain ~150,000 per day.

On May 28, VOILÀ will play Set It Off’s ‘Why Worry Fest’ featuring The Ready Set, Set It Off, In Her Own Words, Rivals, Weathers, Cray, No Love For The Middle Child, First and Forever and more. For more information and tickets, click HERE.
