‘Last Resort’ is arguably the finest example so far of KiD RAiN’s ability to write huge pop songs. His conversational lyricism possesses a barrage of personality as his bright vocals tell the story of being someone’s ‘Last Resort’. But he may well have the last laugh as everyone else has already worked out what’s going on: “My friends all fucking hate you ‘cos they’ve told me before, you only ever treat me like your last resort.”
‘Last Resort’ was entirely produced and performed by KiD RAiN. He wrote the song with the alternative hip-hop solo artist Usna.
KiD RAiN says, “I don’t think I’ve ever written a song that felt SO specific to me, yet everyone I play it to feels like it’s been written about them. Everyone has felt like someone’s last option at a point in their life, and I’m excited that they can now hopefully scream this song in their car when they think about it.”
If KiD RAiN is feeling down about being a ‘Last Resort’, there’s no sign of it in the track’s video with a performance that captures the relentless energy of his live show., which has previously seen him tour with and perform alongside The Vamps in arenas. As well as sell out his own headline tour, with building a true fan community at shows including Dingwalls and The Camden Assembly. ‘Last Resort’ will feature on KiD RAiN’s upcoming six-track EP, his biggest body of work to date which was worked on with Will Reeves (G-Eazy, Joy Crookes) and Charlie Holmes (Ed Sheeran, Niall Horan, Anne Marie). His recent sessions also include work with Roy Stride, the Scouting For Girls frontman who recently co-wrote Jax Jones and Calum Scott’s Silver-certified Top 15 hit ‘Whistle’.
Earning growing acclaim as a next wave pop star, KiD RAiN’s growing following has included over 250 million video views to date and a viral hit in the shape of his take on ‘Accidentally In Love’, which was shared by Khloe Kardashian. Beyond his cheeky and endearing personality which has made him a popular figure on TikTok, KiD RAiN is also an accomplished musician. A multi-instrumentalist and songwriter in his childhood, he put together his first home studio in his teens and clearly relishes the rush of writing a banger of a song that people can also relate to.
