October 27, 2022 (Los Angeles, CA) – Indie-pop songstress Julia Wolf is coming for blood on her latest release “Dracula.” While the title pays homage to Julia’s enthusiasm and infatuation for all things spooky, “Dracula” brings light to those around who can’t look in the mirror, similar to the titular namesake the track derives from.
“Dracula” marks the fourth single from Julia’s eagerly-awaited debut album, Good Thing We Stayed, which drops via BMG on Jan. 13, 2023, and is available to preorder HERE. Julia will embark on her premier headline tour—Gothic Babe Tendencies Tour—beginning February 10, 2023.
“Spending most of my youth on the bleachers really gave me the time to observe and learn how to read a room,” Julia shares of the track’s underlying theme. “ In being the quiet person in the room – you really get to see the lines people are willing to cross to get what they want.”
“As someone who is a diehard horror fan I wanted to use our beloved Dracula, the vampire who can’t see his own reflection, as a way to call out people who throw the most shade while hiding behind closed doors or phones” Julia continues. “People get so two-faced and think they’ve fooled everyone around them when really the spotlight couldn’t be shining down any brighter.”
As Halloween draws nearer, Julia has participated in several spooky activities including telling scary stories around Tidal’s virtual campfire and creating a Halloween-themed guide of her favorite spots around NYC for Apple Maps. Julia is also the first musician to partner with Fable, the digital book club app with an impressive roster of moderators that includes actors Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings) and LeVar Burton (Star Trek: the Next Generation). Her first selection is the 2014 horror comedy novel Horrorstör, written by Grady Hendrix and illustrated by Michael Rogalski. Join the club and get into the discussion here.
The young Italian-American artist is the definition of DIY: writing all of her own music and creating her own artwork, including the cover art for “Dracula” seen below. After nearly giving up on chasing her dreams, the self-described wallflower from Long Island has surpassed more than 50 million streams across her discography. Her songs serve as the brave voice for a generation that understands you don’t have to be the loudest in the room to be heard.
