Jenny Don’t And The Spurs have been pioneering their own path for over a decade. Known for their high-energy country/garage style and captivating stage presence, they have garnered a global following with their infectious enthusiasm and discography of three albums and ten singles.

Based in Portland, Oregon in the US Northwest, the band’s 2021 album ‘Fire On The Ridge’ expanded their horizons, hitting the top spot in the Alt-Country charts and leading them to tour where few other acts of their ilk have had the opportunity to do so, including the Far East, Australasia, Mexico plus right across the EU, affirming their formidable presence in the country, punk, garage and rockabilly scenes.

Produced by Collin Hegna of Brian Jonestown Massacre, the A-side of this strictly limited 7” single is the opening track on ‘Broken Hearted Blue’, the band’s new album out on 14th June. ‘Flyin’ High’ is akin to a wild horse spurred by a crack of lightning, the song skilfully merging their garage-rock origins with a distinctive honky-tonk sound, characterised by a driving tempo and gritty fuzz psych tones. Band mainstays Kelly and Jenny wrote it as a candid exploration of the addictive nature of love and relationships. The song delves into the idea of chasing a feeling (even when it might not good for us) and the inevitable crash that follows.

Demonstrating the fact that Jenny Don’t And The Spurs love surf music from all corners of the globe, the flip side of this single, ‘War Cry!’ is a cover version of a 1962 instrumental by New Zealand act Tony And The Initials. It serves as a homage to all those bands who remain more or less unknown outside of their home territory.

Jenny Don’t earned the moniker in her youth for her strong-willed and independent nature, often defying authority figures, leading the punk band DON’T and numerous other acts. The Spurs also include lead guitarist Christopher March, bassist Kelly Halliburton (formerly the drummer for Pierced Arrows, aka Dead Moon) and new drummer Buddy Weeks, who replaced Sam Henry (Wipers, Poison Idea) after his death from cancer in 2022.

The band will be performing at festivals in Spain, Holland, Germany (Static Roots) and Belgium (Sjock) in July 2024, as well as a full mainland European tour in the autumn. Having toured the UK in 2023, including a set at Ramblin’ Roots Revue, new dates for February 2025 will be announced soon.
