Flatspot Records announce Flatspot World Austin, official SXSW showcase, on March 16th at Mohawk

Pivotal hardcore label Flatspot Records today announce an official South By Southwest showcase taking place in Austin, TX on March 16th at Mohawk on the outdoor stage. The show is headlined by alternative meets hardcore-punk band Scowl, who had a phenomenal 2023 with their EP Psychic Dance Routine landing on best of lists from Revolver, Stereogum, Variety, NME, Alternative Press, BrooklynVegan, and more. Joining the band is a number of Flatspot labelmates including Baltimore hardcore standouts End It, the label’s latest signing – Life’s Question, and Chicago hardcore’s finest, Buggin and Kharma. The show will also feature a rare performance from Florida metallic hardcore band Day By Day. The SXSW showcase signifies the third iteration of Flatspot World,  first taking place in April 2023 in New York City followed by a second edition that August in Los Angeles, both sold out.

Run by Che Figueroa out of Baltimore, MD and Ricky Singh out of New York City, the pair have boosted Flatspot Records as a platform for rising and established bands alike. The label spans a vast catalog; with early releases from heavyweights like Trapped Under Ice, Backtrack, and Angel Du$t, to the forefront of this decade’s new crop of breakout bands like Scowl, Zulu, End It, and Speed. The label has earned significant media attention with profile pieces running in Kerrang, New Noise Magazine, Knotfest, and The Baltimore Banner. 2024 marks 20 years running for Flatspot Records, who prove to consistently be a vital source of what’s new and next in the world of hardcore and heavy music.
