Down ‘N’ Out: Navigating Life’s Confusion with “HEADSPACE”

Introducing Down ‘N’ Out, an electrifying alternative rock band from Birmingham, composed of Archie Holden (Lead Guitar and Vocalist), Sam Bayley (Drummer), Max Notley (Guitar), and George McGregor (Bass). The quartet are gearing up to release their latest single, HEADSPACE, on the 23rd of February 2024.

School friends, Down ‘N’ Out quickly gained attention honing their craft with their favourite covers. As they matured, the band transitioned to creating original material, leaving audiences in awe. Over the years, they’ve played to thousands at local festivals like ‘Dav Fest’ and have performed at renowned venues, including the Sunflower Lounge and the O2 Institute in Birmingham.

In 2023, the band joined forces with Neil Hudson from Initiate Audio & Media, also notoriously known for his incredible guitar playing with Krysthla. This alliance has built vision and meant the band has a strong platform to evolve.

The new single, HEADSPACE is a reflection of confusion and the quest to find direction in the chaos of life. The band’s drummer, Sam Bayley, comments, “this particularly resonates with the challenges of being 17.” The artwork, created by the band, is a metaphor for the mind, surrounded by nature to showcase the beauty that lies within our thoughts. The accompanying music video, directed and produced by Jacob J Hollis, emphasises the band’s connection with nature, portraying the beauty of the natural world and highlighting the importance of taking a step outside the digital realm. Polaroid pictures dangling from a tree during the guitar solo symbolise cherished memories flooding the mind.
