Nearly two years following the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled album, the Finnish traditional doom-metal duo Desolate Realm is back with their second album titled “Legions”, which is set to be released on March 17th.

Formed by members of DecayingChalice and Altar of Betelgeuze, the Helsinki-based duo combine the epic grandeur of doom-metal acts like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus with classic heavy-metal of Savatage and Metal Church and the mighty groove of Black Sabbath throughout eight new tracks full of epic melodies and gripping, heavy riffs. Pre-orders are now available at this location.
The album’s advance single “Forsaken Ground” is now playing at Invisible Oranges, who had this to says about the album “Legions steps up in terms of atmosphere and intensifies the heavy metal on display: everything seems majestic and incredibly lethal, with some parts fast and furious enough I had doubts the album would ever return to doom pacing again. It did, though, and Legions exemplifies how metal can move past strict subgenre delineations and conventions without ever losing authenticity.”

“Forsaken Ground” is one of the faster tracks on our second album Legions.” Says the band. “The idea was to create an epic but also, at the same time, a fierce atmosphere. We think “Forsaken Ground” turned out quite well with its supply of riffs and heavy drums. It definitely shows what Desolate Realm is all about!”
