Today, (8th November 2023) alternative band DAYTIME TV share their cathartic new single ‘waves’ on Kartel Music Group. Produced by Ross Hamilton (Buzz Killer), the track navigates the ebb and flow of emotions in modern times. Listen to ‘waves’ here. Watch the video here.

“We’ve all had periods of strength and stability followed by moments of vulnerability and struggle. I guess those are the waves we’re talking about”, comments vocalist Will Irvine on the single, “I think everyone feels that at some point, especially with the world being such a mad unpredictable place right now. One minute you think everything is great and then something takes you by surprise and you’re in a bit of a hole. Ultimately I’d love ‘waves’ to be a message of hope for anyone struggling mentally. There’s always the possibility of riding out the storm”.

‘waves’ lands on the tail of DAYTIME TV’s European & UK headline tour, and follows singles ‘block out the noise’ and ‘jessica’ which landed support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland, Kerrang!, idobi, Amazing Radio, plus more.

Spread between Scotland and London, DAYTIME TV released their debut album nothing’s on but everyone’s watching in 2022. Recorded with GRAMMY®-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic, Lower Than Atlantis), the LP gave DAYTIME TV the opportunity to take their sound to new heights, boasting an incredible fusion of gargantuan alt-rock with undeniably contagious and feel good choruses. The record gathered support and accolades from Rock Sound, DORK, The Scotsman & more.

2023 so far has taken DAYTIME TV to Europe for a support run with Blue October, alongside UK shows with Circa Waves and Kaiser Chiefs, plus a handful of festivals including a slot on the main stage at Kendal Calling. Other achievements include sharing stages with Two Door Cinema Club, Pearl Jam, The Wombats and The Amazons, plus TRNSMT, Mad Cool and Y Not Festival. DAYTIME TV’s next port of call will be a handful of shows with The View in December, with further new music and tour dates to be announced in the new year.
