NASHVILLE, TN. – (August 18, 2023) – Celebrated singer / songwriter, instrumentalist and recording artist Charlie Worsham has the entire Music City creative community in his corner, and that’s never been more apparent than with his forthcoming project Compadres. The five-track album, due October 13, features a handful of Worsham’s most decorated collaborators and fiercest champions: Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Elle King, Kip Moore and Lainey Wilson (full track listing below). Compadres, produced by The Cadillac Three frontman Jaren Johnston, is a versatile introduction to the next chapter of a decade-long story. More than that, it is a musical statement from his supporters that Charlie Worsham will have his moment. The first track, ‘How I Learned To Pray‘ feat. Luke Combs, is out today, following a world exclusive first play from Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 yesterday (listen here).
‘How I Learned To Pray’ has connected with fans even before release, with more than 14,000 people on TikTok using the audio to create their own clips. The song’s official music video premiered across all CMT platforms and the Paramount billboards in New York City’s Times Square, and will be available on YouTube at 4pm BST today (18/8) – watch here.
From his debut album Rubberband to his 2021 EP Sugarcane, Worsham’s discography has earned unflagging praise from critical outlets including NPR, The Wall Street Journal, The Tennessean, Billboard and Rolling Stone. In addition to creating his own music, the proud Mississippi native has recently contributed his talents as both a vocalist and instrumentalist to projects from Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Brandy Clark, Vince Gill, Hailey Whitters, Corey Kent, and Keith Urban, among others. He continues to tour as part of Dierks Bentley’s band, and he was honored with the 2022 ACM Award for Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year.
