FROMS ASHES TO NEW

BRING THE NOSTALGIA ON NEW HEAVY ROCK ANTHEM

“NIGHTMARE”

FROM ASHES TO NEW on February 3 delivered an intense and captivating new single “Nightmare,” taken from their upcoming as-yet-titled fourth album due this summer. “Nightmare” masterfully showcases dual vocalists Matt Brandyberry and Danny Case expertise in contrasting heavy rock anthemic choruses with nu-metal/rap rock verses. “Nightmare” takes listeners through the emotions of being betrayed and the nightmares that result which are presented in the track’s accompanying apocalyptic-themed music video directed by Josiahx (Distrubed, Miss May I).

“Betrayal by someone we trust happens to the best of us,” says CASE. “We befriend someone, let them in, build a connection and then all of a sudden they turn into someone unrecognizable. Someone you once trusted and cared for so deeply is now a backstabbing enemy. In a heartbeat, the person you once thought you knew is now gone. There aren’t many things in life that cut quite as deep as betrayal. Erasing that person from your life and moving forward is the only way to wake up from the nightmare.”

“When I had first heard the original version, I instantly fell in love, so when Nothing More asked me to be a part of the piano version it was truly a no brainer,” shares ACORN. “The song is so beautiful and touches on a very similar situation that I was going through in a previous relationship of mine, so it was super easy to connect with. I also love how much, at least to me, the song resembles early Evanescence, which is one of my favorite bands of all time. It’s beautiful, it’s powerful, and I hope people love it as much as I do.”

CLASSLESS ACT

PAYS HOMAGE TO DAVID BOWIE

WITH DOUBLE-A-SIDE SINGLE

February 3 — With the David Bowie documentary “Moonage Daydream” shortlisted as Best Documentary for the 2023 Academy Awards, Classless Act, one of the hottest new rock bands to emerge in 2022, pays tribute to Bowie with its double-A-side digital single, “All The Young Dudes,” and “Starman.”

“When we learned there was a documentary about the creative, spiritual and musical journey of the great David Bowie, we wanted to pay our tribute, acknowledge his genius, his artistry, his influence and our gratitude to him,” said band vocalist Derek Day.  “We’ve always had a few cover songs in our set; in the beginning, it was out of necessity as we didn’t have enough of our own songs.  Now it’s our choice.  Whether it was Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, Queen, or many others, they represent a road map of our influences, our roots…and how we’ve gotten ‘here’ musically.  David Bowie played a major role.”

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT

RISING ROCK BAND THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT LAUNCH NEW VIDEO “ALIEN”

On FEBRUARY 10 The Funeral Portrait released their brand-new single “Alien” and was accompanied by a music video

Alien” further showcases the band’s song writing capabilities and ethos. In their own words: “The Funeral Portrait stands to represent the outcasts from all walks of life. The misunderstood, the different, the neurodivergent, LGBT+, marginalized, and any others given an unfair hand in life. To offer a sense of community, a place to belong, a space where they can feel safe and accepted for their differences. We all grew up “the weird kid” who was saved by music & the alternative culture, so we feel obligated to return this to the younger generation”.

Their message runs deep and throughout their forthcoming debut album, which is due out in 2023. The Funeral Portrait’s theatrics and dramatic presentation is yet another way to underline the band’s core values.

CORY MARKS

WITH HIS NEW EP I RISE RELEASED AND LEANING INTO HIS ROCK INFLUENCES ON HIS LATEST BODY OF WORK, AND NOW NEW VIDEO

FEBRUARY 10 — Cory Marks released his latest video “I RISE” from the same titled rock-infused EP. “This EP was a blast to create and it’s very special to me because it’s rooted in my edgier rock side,” says Cory Marks. “Every track allowed me to push myself vocally and gave me one hell of a challenge, but it also allowed me the time to focus on writing rock songs that express my passion for the genre and this side of who I am as an artist”

I Rise This business, as a newer artist, is very challenging and one of the hardest jobs to succeed in, especially when you’re doing something different and doing it your own way. It’s been a challenge but no matter what, you gotta rise and keep coming back and letting them know why you’re here and just who you are. You can’t quit, you keep climbing, believe in yourself until they start believing in you. The fighter in me will never die… I RISE.
