BAYBE
Announces Debut EP
Out April 28th
New Single “Father, Son, Holy Ghost”
Out Now Here
Nashville, TN – April 6, 2023 – Dynamic pop/rap/metal artist BAYBE has announced her forthcoming debut EP, God’s Favorite, set to be released on April 28th. A collection of songs that explore the singer’s condemnable views on religion, God’s Favorite features aggressive, tongue-in-cheek lyricism as BAYBE writes about pride, lust, envy and other deadly sins.
“For my first EP, ‘God’s Favorite’, I wanted to encapsulate all aspects of my sound, influences, and personal experiences, while also exploring lyrical themes that may be a bit controversial to some,” shares BAYBE. “Aside from the suggestive and cheeky lyrics, I made it a point to sneak in unconventional chords, melodies and rhythm structures that I feel modern pop music lacks most of the time. The way I approach songwriting in every session is ‘How can I make this unlike anything I’ve ever done before’, and this EP is the perfect representation of that.”
In addition to announcing her new EP, BAYBE has today shared “Father, Son, Holy Ghost”, streaming now, here: http://lnk.to/fshg. Poking fun at religion with her not-so-subtle innuendos, she tells the story of a man who paints BAYBE out to be the “devil” for tempting his girlfriend. With heavy guitars and metal screams laced throughout a hip-hop centric track, “Father Son Holy Ghost” is the perfect song to listen to on your way to Sunday service.

About BAYBE
Miami-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and producer BAYBE stalks pop hooks from the shadows of off-kilter hard rock punctuated by hip-hop with an aesthetic befitting of an A24 mindfuck.
You’ve never quite heard anybody like her before, and she’s subverting one taboo at a time on her 2023 debut EP, God’s Favorite.
“There’s definitely a hidden meaning behind all of my songs,” she reveals. “I write lines that are a bit jarring and make people a little unsure if they love or hate what they’re hearing. There’s a focus on musicality, and I work hard to be timeless.”
Born to a voiceover artist mom and recording engineer father, she practically took her first steps in the family’s recording studio. At three-years-old, she accepted a seminal gig, voicing Lovely Dolls. “When you squeeze their hands and feet, they either sing educational songs or little rhymes,” she says. Classically trained, she excelled at music. Listening to everyone from Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver to Of Mice & Men and Bring Me The Horizon, she cut her teeth in bands throughout high school and middle school, developing her chops in the process. Settling in Nashville, she introduced herself as BAYBE in 2020. Following “MY NAME IS BAYBE,” the breakout “rosalie” eclipsed over 1.7 million Spotify streams, while “Speak of the Devil” [feat. JF] generated 1.2 million Spotify streams. Simultaneously, her double entendre and larger-than-life persona popped off on TikTok, attracting over 336K followers.
“I found my home and my sonic space,” she goes on. “I wanted a project where I could fully go into the dark place I’ve always loved in everybody else’s music. Thematically, I fully embraced horror. Musically, it’s metal hip-hop. It was so comfortable to write heavier songs.”
She introduces this chapter with the single “Dinner For One.” BAYBE sinks her teeth into airy production as she muses, “Role play yeah tonight, let’s get naughty, I’ll be Dahmer, and you can be the body.” Heavy guitar kicks in as she coos, “Dinner for one, yeah you taste so amazing.”
“I had a note on my phone that said something along the lines of ‘Having such a big crush on someone you want to eat them’,” she elaborates. “We went for it from there.”
Speaking of “going for it,” “Yes Please!” commences with an ominous warning, “Here comes BAYBE out for blood.” A haunting hum breaks as she kicks into high gear with incisive rhymes and a twisted little prayer on a bloody rosary over production cooked up by BAYBE herself.
“I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable for the sake of being uncomfortable,” she states. “However, I think when any kind of art can make you question things or take a step back and laugh, that’s what I want.”
Then, there’s “Stray Dog” where she “scratches an itch for math-y, weird, chugging metal guitar and spooky scales.” Meanwhile, innuendos course through “Father, Son, Holy Ghost” with unrestrained glee.
A crunchy riff and sampled screams entwine on “Love and War” as her disarmingly enchanting vocals echo.
She goes on, “It’s about the feeling of becoming interested in another person and experiencing the fight-or-flight feeling of, ‘I must get out of this, because it’s going to be terrible for the other person.’ This is something I constantly feel in romantic relationships—which I don’t partake in very often.”
In the end, BAYBE is here to stay, and she’s coming for you…
