New Jersey hardcore band Bayway has been going nonstop since making their debut in 2022. The band’s wild energy and no frills attitude has drawn in a loyal following of fans, with packed out live shows across North America. Today the band share single “Hurt Feelings” and announce Bayway Takes Manhattan, their latest EP set for release November 15th on DAZE. The EP title is a play on the movie ‘Jason Takes Manhattan’, aptly appropriate for this time of year.
On “Hurt Feelings” Bayway deliver their rap infused hardcore with with pounding guitars and real deal lyrics.
Vocalist Jayway shares:
“The track deals with people who are selling a story that is not their own and is unauthentic. They will try to keep real people out so that no one finds out they are a fraud. Instead of relating to the struggle they view it as a threat.”
Bayway Takes Manhattan marks Bayway’s fourth overall release and second this year following May’s Word Is Bond EP. The four tracks on the upcoming release address everything from addiction to privilege and celebrating friendship made through the hardcore scene. Hold My Own’s Greg Falchetto lends his vocals on closer “Our Way,” which is bound to be a live set favorite. Like all of Bayway’s material, the EP was self-recorded and produced by Jayway allowing the band to fully steer their sound.
Bayway have a number of upcoming shows including a record release on November 30th in Long Branch, NJ and plays at Keystone Jam and FYA Fest. More info below.
Bayway is Jayway (vocals), Chris Halpin (guitar), and Dave Mericle (drums) with bass performed on record by Julian Austin Caceres.
