New French Rock Artist: Lucie Sue Releases New Single “Battlestation” On 14th January

Welcome to Lucie Sue – a French songwriter, musician and vocalist par extraordinaire. A magnetic live performer already being embraced in her native France, she is set to establish herself as one of the most exciting new rock artists of 2025.
Alongside band members Mitch, Laura and Enzo, Lucie Sue is set to release her debut single in the UK in January 2025. “Battlestation” is a perfect showcase for Lucie’s unique sound and vision. Dark heavy riffs overlaid with Lucie’s vocals – part spoken word, part infectious chorus. The track is a powerful fusion of 90s grunge and modern metal, a sound that is both nostalgic and avant-garde. Lyrically raw and uncompromising, this track is a manifesto for femaleemancipation.
But this is done with Lucie’s trademark twist of humour, seen in the ice hockey video accompanying the track.
This child of the MTV generation, raised on 90s Anglo-Saxon bands, escaped to the sounds of L7, Metallica, and PJ Harvey, after her cello lessons at the Lyon National Conservatory. Passionate about visual arts, she became an accomplished art director. But, during the lockdown, she became known on social media with creative and funny cover versions, in which she plays all the instruments. This led to her composing, recording, producing and releasing her first album “To Sing In French” in 2023.
Her talent and determination are spotted by Richard Gamba, Gojira’s manager for nearly 10 years, who signed her in September 2024. A rapid advancement followed – including being added to the MainStage 1 of Hellfest and signing with the European agents We Live.
A 13-track album is due for release later in 2025, alongside to be confirmed live dates across Europe. With her unique musical universe and boundless energy, Lucie Sue is on her way to becoming one of the leading figures in French rock and metal.
