Portuguese blackened post-metal trio Music In Low Frequencies have unveiled a brand-new video for their haunting interpretation of “Coma White,” originally recorded by Marilyn Manson. Watch the video for “Coma White” now. The track serves as the closing chapter of the band’s acclaimed album Catharsis, while simultaneously paying tribute to one of their most significant artistic influences. The band comments: “We close the chapter Catharsis with the song Coma White, originally by Marilyn Manson, an artist that influenced us so much and continues to influence us to this day, having a huge impact on the path we’ve followed. We decided to create our own interpretation of this song as a gesture of homage and gratitude.” More than a straightforward cover, Music In Low Frequencies transform Coma White into something distinctly their own, filtering the song through their trademark blend of crushing post-metal atmospheres, blackened intensity, and emotional weight. For the accompanying video, the band sought to explore the fragile boundary between the sacred and the profane. “We wanted to explore the boundaries between the sacred and the profane, delving not only into the influence of religion but also into the labyrinths of the human mind. It reflects the inner struggle that each of us carries, where faith, doubt, and desire intertwine, showing how spiritual and religious beliefs can be both liberating and imprisoning.” Formed in 2012, Music In Low Frequencies emerged from a shared desire among three longtime friends to create music that was deeply personal while reflecting the harsh realities of modern life. Their sound combines gloomy melodies, crushing riffs, and doom-laden atmospheres, creating a powerful balance between intimacy and heaviness. Following the release of their debut album Sowing The Seed in 2014 and extensive touring across Europe, the band gradually evolved toward darker and more introspective territory. That journey ultimately led to Catharsis, an album born from a period of darkness, reflection, contemplation, and spiritual cleansing. The record explores the weight we carry within ourselves and the possibility of release through music, embracing themes of struggle, healing, and transformation. With “Coma White,” Music In Low Frequencies bring that chapter to a fitting conclusion, one that is intense, thought-provoking, and deeply emotional. |
