MULTI-PLATINUM SINGER-SONGWRITER KATE MORGAN SHINES WITH NEW SINGLE, “THINKING ABOUT YOU”
Canadian born, Los Angeles-based hitmaker Kate Morgan, whose songwriting credits have amassed over a billion streams for some of the music industry’s biggest names, is stepping into the spotlight with her latest single, “Thinking About You,” available now on all digital platforms via Regime Music Group.
With the opening line, “Would you like me if I was naive, ya think?” Morgan invites listeners into a deeply introspective exploration of love, connection, and self-reflection at a relationship’s turning point. Anchored by a pulsing bassline, the track envelops its audience, while Morgan’s commanding vocal delivery and lyrical vulnerability bring the bittersweet emotions of longing and heartache to life. “It’s about reminder to look around and take in what a big beautiful world we live in. That whatever is bogging you down is temporary. That we are meant to die and be reborn over and over again as we change and grow with the seasons of our lives,” Kate says. She penned the song after negotiating a record deal that fell through at the last minute. “My career as a writer was at an all-time low. My relationship was falling apart. It all felt so heavy, like I couldn’t find joy in myself anymore, just anxiety, just sadness just hopelessness. It was a mantra to myself. I hope it can be that reminder for you too.”

Originally from Kamloops, British Columbia – a blue-collar Canadian mountain town – Kate began her career at age 14, performing original songs at local venues and uploading them to MySpace. Not long after, she began traveling back and forth to Vancouver with her mother to play in larger venues and bars alongside her band. As Kate’s skills developed, she was awarded bigger and better opportunities, starting on the festival circuit and even having the chance to join the legendary Lilith Fair tour at 16 years old, performing alongside icons like Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, and Erykah Badu. From there, she began to record with more established producers, and at the age of 19, she achieved her first radio top 20 hit and a number 1 music video. Kate soon got scooped up by a record label, but became disillusioned as her music was continually placed on hold. Taking matters into her own hands, Kate started planting her own roots in the industry with frequent trips to Los Angeles, and her efforts were quickly rewarded; in a matter of years, she had writing credits on numerous heavy hitting releases. In 2019, after a six-year stint in Los Angeles, she decided she needed a change of scenery and spontaneously moved to the artistic and effervescent city of Berlin. There, she met a key collaborator, Vincent Kottkamp, who encouraged her to step back into the mindset of an artist. Throughout the pandemic, they recorded her album– a nostalgic reflection of the ups and downs she had experienced in the music industry and the love stories she encountered along the way.
