About Mortez: Mortez is a glorious love story about two musicians finding each other in the wild City of Angels. Brett Daniels and Rachele Royale come together as a dynamic dramatic duo, bringing a symphonic rock dream to life.
With Royale dominating the pop world and building her brand as a solo recording artist, she’s creating a new atmosphere with Mortez. Her debut album, produced by rock legend Mutt Lange, landed songs on MTV, CMT, Hulu, SiriusXM and beyond.
While Daniels has played on some of the biggest stages as a session player with Hollywood local legends. As a composer, his end game is to tour with a full orchestra with Mortez.
Now, the duo are set to release a biting pop-rock track on July 10, “Reaper.” The track is loaded with the familiarity of theatrics that Mortez brings to the table while intertwining a biting rock edge. “A heavier rock take on our cinematic universe. We characterize death as the Reaper in this angsty rock banger. This song peeks into the fantasy of the battle between life and death.” The band says about the single.
Mortez tells a love story between a musical duo meeting under strenuous circumstances. A woman who had survived horrific events and a man losing his life to bad habits came together to save each other. Both of them gave up everything to start a new life in order to love each other honestly and purely. Music was a monster that Royale would eventually face (once again) as Daniels began to compose on the piano. The sounds of Mortez would materialize without them even knowing it. Hear “Reaper” out July 10.
