“VESPERS”
EUROPE + NORTH AMERICAN TOUR ANNOUNCED,
AUTUMN EUROPE DATES ON SALE FROM MAY 6TH AT 10AM BST
Model/Actriz release their highly anticipated sophomore album Pirouette via True Panther (Americas) / Dirty Hit (RoW). It follows singles “Cinderella,” “Doves” and “Diva,” all of which received critical praise from The Guardian, The Observer, New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and more.
The release is accompanied by “Vespers,” a bustling track about a sense of power and bravery that comes with admitting to a lack of confidence in oneself and the balance of being both human and divine.
To celebrate the album release, the band will complete their residency at the Lot Radio in
Brooklyn from 12-1PM EST today, and have announced their extensive autumn tour, playing
UK dates including Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow this November. They will head on their nearly
sold-out spring/summer tour on May 6, playing festival dates in London and Manchester at
Outbreak Festival and Lisbon and Madrid at Kalorama Festival.
Pirouette was co-produced and mixed by Seth Manchester (The Body, Battles, Mdou Moctar,
Lingua Ignota) and mastered by Matt Colton (Aphex Twin, James Blake) and recorded at
Machines With Magnets in Pawtucket, RI. Club-pop meets industrial on Pirouette as it
explores a thorny part of becoming one’s true self; its dance-floor ready soundscape
channels the magic of their liberating live shows that create a shared space of cathartic
carnal ritual when Aaron Shapiro’s pummelling bass, Jack Wetmore’s blistering guitar, and
Ruben Radlauer’s relentless drums amalgamate, as frontman Cole Haden commands the
music’s chaotic center with a poise that channels Grace Jones and Lady Gaga.
Model/Actriz is Cole Haden (vocals), Jack Wetmore (guitar), Aaron Shapiro (bass) and
Ruben Radlauer (drums).
Earlier this year, Jack White handpicked Model/Actriz to open his NYC underplay at Irving
Plaza. The performance followed a banner two years including plays at Pitchfork Music
Festival, Primavera Sound Barcelona, Kilby Block Party, Portola, Making Time, C2C,
Pukkelpop and more, as well as support for Interpol, Gilla Band and The Armed. Together,
the band performs an intensity in their work that resembles a rubber ball approaching
vibrational frequency bouncing between the points of extremes: joy and violence, humor and
nihilism, flirtation and effacement, making them a special conjuring of gray areas without a
whiff of indecision.“Pirouette”
