Mirrorglass is a rock band based in Ireland, formed in 2022. The project is spearheaded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Joshua Bowles.

In January 2024, following a string of shows and the release of his debut single, ‘Hey Honey’, he won Cavan Institute’s Win Big Song Contest with the song ‘Where Will You Go?’. He decided to release the song as part of the Mirrorglass catalogue in May 2024 as a single. Following this, he released ‘Let’s Go To Mine’ and played a handful of shows across the east coast of Ireland. (full artist bio is available via the assets folder).

After just one show in 2025, the band are set to return to the stage with their ambitions high in 2026. The current line-up that will be joining Joshua in Mirrorglass is Paul Jackman behind the kit, new bassist Andrej Spaček and returning keyboardist Sean McKiernan.

“Better Off Dead to me, verges on emotional exhaustion and complete mania. It’s tongue and cheek in a way that sort of covers up the deeper roots of the song. When I wrote the line “I’d rather die than let her go”, that was very much a serious line, so much so that it led me to take the piss out of it with the chorus that follows and the nonsensical “hope is my only hope” line. I basically analysed my own line and it’s meaning and said well if I’d rather die than let her go then I’m better off dead!” (full song bio is available via the assets folder)
